East Bank is a light rail station under construction along the Central Corridor line in Minneapolis, Minnesota, located on Washington Avenue on the East Bank campus of the University of Minnesota. According to a preliminary engineering draft from June 2010, it will extend between Union Street and Harvard Street. This is south of the Transportation and Safety Building and north of Moos Tower and Weaver-Densford Hall.[2]
Washington Avenue on the East Bank is being converted into a transit mall as the light-rail line is built. Construction began in the area in May 2011,[3] and the station is expected to open along with the rest of the line in 2014.
